All materials used and finished products are subjected to stringent quality control by a dedicated team headed by an industrial pharmacist. Quality and safety of surgical sutures are thus assured.

SMI exports to 60 different countries all over the world, which make up approximately 80% of SMI's turnover. This performance earned SMI the "Royal Export Award 2000" from the Belgian Foreign Trade Board.
